Trail Workday

 WHAT: TRAIL WORKDAY

WHEN: 8AM SATURDAY NOVEMBER 9TH, 2024

WHERE:  PRESCOTT NATIONAL FOREST PNF #260, EAST COPPER TRAIL

Please check your e-mail or PTR Facebook posts on Saturday morning to ensure nothing has caused the cancellation of the workday!

Required PPE: Long pants & sleeves, hardhat (or bicycle helmet), eye protection, leather boots, gloves.

DIRECTIONS TO STAGING LOCATION: The END of 9402C at the steel gate for the radio towers at Mt. Francis, just off of the top of Copper Basin Rd (county 64) (34.489472°N, 112.53975°W). Travel South from downtown Prescott on State Route 89/ Montezuma/White Spar, and turn right on Copper Basin Road at the first RED light past the Safeway grocery store. Travel about 6.5 miles, the blue route below, on Copper Basin Road to the TOP, then turn left on 9402C and continue ½ mile and see the PTR trailer near the radio towers steel gate at the blue STAR below.  8:00AM mandatory safety meeting. Bring your own water and snacks for the trail.

DIRECTIONS TO WORK LOCATION FROM STAGING LOCATION:  We will use an ATV to haul tools close to the work location. You need your motorcycle to travel about 1-1/4 miles on 48/260 to where PNF 48 turns left, this is our secondary staging area to work on the trail. You can park your bike/quad here and walk or ride the trail a bit to start working (as this is our second workday on this trail, most remaining work is further down the trail.)

Lunch at noon will be hosted by PNF staff and local trail work clubs at a site off Thumb Butte Rd listed in flyer below. Please RSVP to Jason if you plan to join us for lunch (you’re invited to the lunch if you’ve joined us on any trail workdays this year.)
