September 2021 Trail Work Day
September 18, 2021 @ 8:00 am - 11:30 am MST
When: 8AM Saturday September 18th 2021
Where: PNF Trail 9405D/9406 off Tonto Rd. near Skull Valley
Remember, check your email or Facebook on Saturday morning to make sure that no weather, fire, or other sky falling event has caused a cancellation of the workday! If you are sick it is OK to stay home.
Southwest from Prescott, heading out Iron Springs or County 10 towards Skull Valley. Go to Tonto Road, county 66, which is about 8 miles past Alto Pit motorcycle area. Turn right or North-West on Tonto, go about 2.9 miles, the gravel road turns into pavement for just a short strip, and turn left on the Z3 Ranch Road (county 121). Continue about 1 mile to a very nice grassy area with large trees. This is the start of PNF 260. PTR trailer will be at that location. Let’s park in an orderly manner close to the PTR trailer, that will leave room for other outdoors folks to park (this is me being anal).
Start with mandatory safety meeting at 8:00AM at the PTR trailer. (PTR will supply hard hats, we are running low on glasses and gloves though, bring your own if you have them please. You can also use a bicycle helmet if you have one). Bring your own water to carry onto the trail. Bring your own lunch if you want to hang around after the trail work to eat with the club.
Mike & Terry have volunteered to take loppers, saws, and hardhats to the trail head at 260 and 9405D/9406, but these guys will be leaving early to get to the trail head since they will be traveling slower. You can ride your motorcycle, ATV, or Jeep on a rather boring, rough, but not difficult 7 mile trek to the trail head. Then you can ride or walk up the trail for brush clearing.
