November 2022 Trail Work Day
November 12, 2022 @ 9:00 am - 3:00 pm MST
What: PTR Trail Work Day (PNF Trail 211)
When: 9:00AM Saturday 11/12/22
Initial Meeting Location: Pavement end of Senator Highway (coordinates; 34.456908 North, 112.443628 West)
Remember, check to prescotttrailriders.org, your email, Facebook, etc. on Saturday morning to make sure that no weather/fire/flood/pandemic/war or whatever has caused a change of the workday.
We will meet at the parking area at the end of pavement on Senator Hwy (Mt Vernon), County 56 at 9AM and send groups down to the work area at the intersection of trail 211 and Senator Highway.
You can drive almost any higher-clearance 2WD vehicle, or your motorcycle, quad, etc., to the Trail 211 trail head worksite but may take you 1~1.5 hours! (It’s 20 miles from pavement end to Trail 211 on Senator Hwy.) To accommodate the extra travel time, lunch will be served later than normal around 3pm’ish. We recommend you pack hearty snacks & water for the trail.
The worksite staging area will be on the opposite side of the road from Trail 211 at the 215 Tuscumbia trailhead on Senator Hwy where the tools will be waiting. Safety training will also be held at this location for those who prefer to take an alternate route (e.g., Walker Rd. or County 177 via Mayer; click here for map.)
Start with mandatory safety meeting promptly at 9:00AM at the PTR trailer at end of pavement on Senator. You must have long sleeves & pants, sturdy shoes. PTR will supply hard hats, or use your own bicycle helmet. We are running low on glasses & gloves, so please bring yours if possible.
