Forest or weather conditions have a more likely impact in August. \nDIRECTIONS TO STAGING LOCATION:  End-of-pavement on Senator (Mount Vernon in Prescott)\, just beyond the YMCA camp (34.456844 N\, 112.443817 W). 7:30AM mandatory safety meeting at the PTR trailer. \nYou will need any vehicle/motorcycle to travel mostly together South on Senator/52 about 6.5 miles. \nBottom to Top group; South on Senator/52\, veer to the right at the cattle guard to STAY on Senator at 3.5 miles\, at 6.5 miles Venezia Trail 381 is on your right\, easy to miss though\, if you end up at Palace Station U-turn back 1.5 miles. You can walk or ride your MC UP the trail ½ to ¾ miles from here to do mostly Manzanita trimming. UTV will bring tools\, hard hats\, etc. to this trail head. Bring your own water. \nTop to Bottom group; 3 or 4 guys only and you must carry the PTR breakdown tools to add some water drains\, and a bit of trimming. South on Senator/52\, veer to the right at the cattle guard to STAY on Senator at 3.5 miles\, at 3.9 miles veer right on 52B. Continue on 52B for .3 miles\, then turn left on 81 to Golden Eagle Mine\, then stay left again at another .3 miles on Ash Creek Ridge/70. Another 2 miles of Jeep Road and you dead-end into Venezia Trail 381. Ride your MC DOWN this more-difficult trail from here. Bring your own water. We will catch up with the rest of the group by continuing DOWN the trail to Senator\, working along the way. \nSandwich lunch is provided by PTR back at the trailer about Noon(ish)

PTR trailer staging is about 0.6 miles on Grapevine Rd/PNF 87A at 9211A intersection (approx. 34.431461\, -112.269414)\, but there is limited parking at this location with a corral. If you bring your motorcycle/UTV\, consider parking at about 0.1 miles in from 69 along the right side of Grapevine Rd/PNF87A. Normal 9:00AM mandatory safety meeting at the PTR trailer. Long pants & shirts\, leather boots are required. I suggest bringing your own safety glasses & gloves\, but PTR has those as well as hardhats\, all required. \nYou will need your UTV/Jeep/motorcycle to travel mostly together ~1/4 miles South on PNF 9211A\, thru the double green gate to the location of the first 130 trail sign that we have been driving past for the last months! Saturday the 13th\, weather permitting\, will be the day we finish 130. We will have a Jeep or UTV bring work tools & hardhats to about 1/8 mile up the wash on 130 until the trail starts up the hill. Some will ride motorcycles up the hill and start working downhill from our ending location last month\, the rest can walk uphill working to bring the trail identifiable. Bring your own water & snacks for the trail. \nLunch is provided by PTR back at the trailer about 1:00pm.

Turn left on DOCE Rd and proceed ½ mile on an EASY decomposed granite graded road to the trailer location with plenty of parking. 9AM Saturday mandatory safety meeting at the PTR trailer. Prescott National Forest Law Enforcement will be on site this Saturday. \nYou can drive a pickup\, catch a ride or walk from the trailer location to the areas where we are beautifying the forest by picking up debris left by shooters that are way too cool to pick up after themselves. Bring your own water and snacks onto the trail. \nLeather boots\, long pants and sleeves are always required. Bring your own gloves and safety glasses if you have them. PTR will provide a hardhat\, or you can use your bicycle helmet. Lunch is provided by PTR back at the trailer about 1pm(ish). If there was ever a work day that you needed to leave early\, easy to do this time!

DESCRIPTION:WHAT:     PTR DECEMBER 2023 CLUB RIDE \nWHEN:    9AM SATURDAY DECEMBER 16TH 2023 \nWHERE:  THE MILITARY TRAIL #1 (PNF N WILLIAMSON VALLEY) \nWe hope you will be able to join for our final club ride of the year.  Please arrive around 9AM; we plan to have a rider’s meeting then kickstands up at 10AM. \nThe ride will explore the famed Military Trail #1\, described in the attached/linked PNF PDF brochure\, which is located in Williamson Valley in the northern part of the Prescott National Forest.  The ride will be about 24 miles out and back with easier return options if desired (e.g. Williamson Valley Rd to the staging area.) \nThe staging area will be just before the trailhead on County Rd. 125 (approximately 1.4 miles west of Williamson Valley Rd.). Please see the attached map for staging location and ride routing. \nDirections to the staging area- \nFrom the intersection of Hwy 89 and OuterLoop Rd.\, take Outer Loop Rd. west for 6 miles to Williamson Valley Rd.  Turn right and continue north for 27 miles to County Rd. 125.  Turn left and continue for 1.4 miles.  Staging will be just short of the trailhead on the right. \nPTR will serve food and refreshments after the ride.

SUMMARY:November 2023 Adopt-A-Highway Clean Up Day
DESCRIPTION:PTR will be picking up roadside litter again for our 1 mile section of Highway 89\, just southwest of the Burro Inn in Wilhoit.  We will stage at 9AM under the big tree just east of the Burro Inn on Hwy 89 in Wilhoit (in front of\, but not blocking the fenced APS Storage Yard.)  Take Hwy 89 south from the Courthouse Square for 15.8 miles\, and the big tree will be on your left.  If you didn’t join us for our first effort in May\, please watch the linked ADOT safety video.  Please wear appropriate clothing (hat\, gloves\, shades\, and protective footwear). Travel 2 miles South on Walker Rd from Walker Rd. & Hwy 69 intersection (Costco & AM-PM gas) and the parking area is on your right side (34.521603°N\, 112.392887°W). 9:00AM mandatory safety meeting at the PTR trailer. \nYou can hike from the parking lot to the trail\, but a motorcycle or 50” quad will be convenient and productive\, the trail is an easy ride. If you have a 50” quad\, please bring it as that will be great for hauling a few loppers out to the trail locations where trimming is required. Bring your own water and snacks onto the trail. \nLeather boots\, long pants and sleeves are always required. Bring your own gloves and safety glasses if you have them. PTR will provide a hardhat\, or you can use your bicycle helmet. Sandwich or pizza lunch is provided by PTR back at the trailer about Noon(ish).

You can walk or ride your MC UP the trail from here. A UTV will bring tools/safety to this trail head. Bring your own water. \nTop to Bottom group; South on Senator/52\, veer to the right at the cattle guard to STAY on Senator at 3.5 miles\, at 3.9 miles veer right on 52B. Continue on 52B for .3 miles\, then turn left on 81 to Golden Eagle Mine\, then stay left again at another .3 miles on Ash Creek Ridge/70. Another 2 miles of more difficult 4WD Jeep road and you dead-end into Venezia Trail 381. You can walk or ride your MC down the trail from here. DESCRIPTION:WHAT: TRAIL WORKDAY \nWHEN:  8:00AM SATURDAY SEPTEMBER 9TH 2023 \nWHERE: PRESCOTT NATIONAL FOREST\, YANKEE DOODLE TRAIL #284 \nPlease check your e-mail or PTR Facebook posts on Saturday morning to ensure nothing has caused the cancellation of the workday! \nDIRECTIONS TO STAGING LOCATION:  5-Corners (or 1 mile prior) Southwest of Walker. Start at Walker Rd & Hwy 69 where Costco or AM-PM gas station is. Follow paved Walker Road South ~6.8 miles\, just after the bridge\, and turn left onto Big Bug Mesa easy-graded gravel road. Then an additional ~5.2 or ~6.2 miles on Big Bug Mesa and you arrive at where the trailer will be parked. The Five Corners (GPS 34.419806\, -112.385290) location was filled with equipment & hunters on Wednesday\, our alternative location is right on the way to 5-Corners\, so the PTR trailer will be easy to see whichever location we need to select. \n8:00AM mandatory safety meeting at the PTR trailer. \nYou will then need any Jeep/RZR/quad/MC to travel together about 2.9 miles on 261/Poland Jct. Rd (re-graded just this week) to get to the intersection of 261 & 261A which is the graded road right up to the Mt. Union L.O. tower. This road is normally locked gate\, but we have access this Saturday. Someone will haul our tools and PPE to this location with a Jeep/PU. We will then hike about 1/8 mile\, carrying your own tools\, to the work site. The Forest Service is now creating a reroute around some private land near the Mt. Union lookout tower\, we will mostly be doing cleaning/buffing of the newly mini-excavator created trail. Forest personnel will be onsite providing direction in the work they want completed. Bring your own water and snacks onto the trail. You always need sturdy shoes\, long pants\, sleeves\, gloves\, eye protection\, PTR hardhat or your bicycle helmet. \nSandwich lunch is provided by PTR back at the trailer about noontime. \n \n
